Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization- Islam

One of the most interesting galleries was the ones housing reproduced manuscripts of the Quran and their covers…20131129_164145(1) This copy of the Quran is attributed to Uthman bin Affan and is noted for its Kufic script, which is very difficult to read nowadays… The original sits at the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul… Hmm… I need to add Turkey to my list of places to visit :)20131129_164220(1) These, then, are the beautiful covers in which the Quran would be kept. The one above is made of silver. 20131129_164233(1)There were so many other beautiful artifacts… but this is the end of my short series on the museum… just so that you’ll visit and see everything else yourselves! :)
