Monochromatic

There’s something so raw and expressive about a single scale painting. The values and depth a single colour can provide to a painting has always intrigued me but I have never been able to try it out myself.

As I had mentioned earlier, I’m just starting to work with watercolour and although it’s very amateur… the journey is fun and practice helps.

I was attempting to do a rendition of the talented Helena Bonham Carter; however, I was rushing it and messed up her face so we will call her my imaginary model.

I also wasn’t ready to trust that my red scale worked on its own and ended up adding browns. I’m quite pleased with the result although I see where i could have worked a bit better.
